Why Parents Choose Our IGCSE French Tutor
Every IGCSE French tutor in our network is a currently employed teacher at an accredited international school, actively teaching Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel IGCSE French to real students every day. They hold a Master’s degree in French or a related field and a recognized teaching qualification, such as a B.Ed.
This is not a side business for them. This is their profession.
Unlike open marketplaces, we have our own teacher-selection and verification process. Every tutor is referred to us by existing teachers in our network – because great teachers know other great teachers.
Our 4-Step Tutor Verification Process
We personally review every CV and cross-verify that the teacher is actively teaching IGCSE French at their respective international school.
We conduct a Zoom or Google Meet interview to assess teaching style, communication skills, and the ability to explain French grammar, vocabulary, and exam technique clearly.
Only after the interview is cleared do we assign demo classes with real students. We observe, evaluate, and only retain teachers who consistently meet our standards.
Every teacher in our network is currently employed teaching IGCSE French at an international school and holds a Master’s degree in French or a related discipline, plus a recognized teaching qualification such as a B.Ed.
What the IGCSE French Exam Actually Requires
Your child’s tutor needs to know exactly what the exam demands. Here is what every IGCSE French student faces.
Cambridge IGCSE French (0520 / 7156)
Cambridge IGCSE French is assessed through four papers, with each paper contributing 25% of the final grade. Under the 2025–2027 syllabus, the papers are not all worth the same number of raw marks. From 2028, the revised syllabus makes each paper worth 40 marks.
Approximately 50 minutes, 40 marks. Short recordings on everyday needs, factual information, and familiar topics. Students identify main points, specific details, and opinions.
1 hour, 45 marks. A range of short and longer texts, including notices, messages, emails, articles and other familiar text types. Students identify main points, specific information, opinions and attitudes, and understand information and meaning in a range of texts.
Approximately 10 minutes, plus 10 minutes of preparation time under the 2025–2027 syllabus. The assessment includes a role-play and conversations on two topics. Students respond to questions and prompts, exchange information and opinions, and communicate on familiar topics.
For the 2025–2027 syllabus, Paper 4 is 1 hour and worth 45 marks. It includes a form-filling task, a directed writing task, and an extended writing task in the required format. Cambridge has introduced a revised syllabus for the first examination in 2028.
Cambridge topic areas (five topic areas):
- Everyday Activities – topics include everyday activities such as home life, food and drink, health and fitness, travel and transport, and leisure activities. Follow the exact syllabus subtopics rather than treating this description as an exhaustive list.

Start with Just 5 Hours
We don’t push large packages on day one. Start with 5 hours to test compatibility – teaching style, communication, and pacing.
Why Our IGCSE French Tutor Offers a 5-Hour Starter Package
This is one of the most important things to know about us.
Most tutoring companies ask you to commit to 10, 20, or even 30 hours upfront. We don’t believe in that.
We offer just 5 hours to begin with. Why?
Because we want you to see the tutor’s teaching style, communication, and pacing before making any larger commitment. No pressure. No lock-in.
Students Come to Us for Different Reasons
Refining Exam Technique
Some students already achieve strong grades but want to refine their exam technique and work toward the highest available grade.
Feeling Lost in Class
Some students feel completely lost in their school classroom. The teacher moves too fast. Our tutors break down complex grammar and vocabulary into simple, step-by-step explanations.
Struggling with Exam Questions
Some students understand the content but struggle with exam questions. Our tutors teach exam strategies, time management, and how to understand and respond effectively to different question and task types.
Rebuilding Confidence
Some students are struggling academically and need structured support to improve their performance and confidence.
Whatever the reason, we listen first. We assess. We customize. No two students are the same.
