Why Parents Choose Our IGCSE Psychology Tutor

Most tutoring websites accept anyone with a degree. We do not.

Every IGCSE Psychology tutor in our network is a working teacher at a recognized international school. They teach Cambridge IGCSE Psychology to real students every day. Each tutor holds a Master’s degree in Psychology or a related subject, plus a recognized teaching qualification such as a B.Ed.

Teaching is their full-time profession, not a side job.

We do not use open marketplaces. We have our own selection and verification process. Other teachers in our network recommend every tutor, because good teachers know other good teachers.

Here is how we select every IGCSE Psychology tutor.

    Our 4-Step Tutor Verification Process

    1
    CV & Employment Verification

Our Academic Coordination Panel reads every CV and confirms that the teacher is actively teaching IGCSE Psychology at their international school.

    2
    Live Video Interview

Our Senior Education Coordinators meet the teacher on Zoom or Google Meet. They check teaching style, communication skills, and how clearly the teacher explains psychology concepts, studies, and research methods.

    3
    Demo Class Assessment

Only after clearing the interview do we give demo classes with real students. We watch, assess, and keep only those teachers who consistently meet our standards.

    4
    Qualification Verification

Every teacher in our network is currently teaching IGCSE Psychology at an international school. They hold a Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field, plus a recognized teaching qualification such as a B.Ed.

These standards are fixed. We make no exceptions.

What the IGCSE Psychology Exam Actually Requires

Your child’s tutor must know exactly what the exam asks for. Here is what every IGCSE Psychology student faces.

    🧠

    Cambridge IGCSE Psychology (0266)

Cambridge IGCSE Psychology is assessed through two written exam papers taken at the end of Year 11. There is no coursework. The final grade comes entirely from these two papers.

    Paper 1 Cognition and Behavior

This paper covers topics 1–3 plus research methods. The duration is 1 hour 30 minutes. This paper is worth 90 marks. It is worth 53% of the final grade. The paper includes:

    • Memory and forgetting – how memory works, why we forget, and the reliability of memory
    • Sleep and dreams – why we sleep, theories of dreaming, and sleep disorders
    • Prosocial behavior – why people help others, bystander behavior, and factors that influence helping
    • Research methods – how psychologists design and carry out experiments
Paper 2 Social Context and Behavior

This paper covers topics 4–6 plus research methods. Duration is 1 hour 20 minutes. This paper is worth 80 marks. It is worth 47% of the final grade. The paper includes:

    • Visual perception – how we see and interpret the world, illusions, and depth perception
    • Motivation and needs – what drives human behavior, including biological and social motives
    • Language development – how language develops, theories of language acquisition, and communication
    • Research methods – observations, case studies, questionnaires, interviews, and correlations

The syllabus has six content topics plus a dedicated Research Methods section. The six content topics are:

    • Memory and Forgetting
    • Sleep and Dreams
    • Prosocial Behavior
    • Visual Perception
    • Motivation and Needs
    • Language Development
Named studies: Cambridge requires students to know three compulsory named studies for each of the six content topics. That is 18 named studies in total. Students are assessed on the results and conclusions of each study to support the theories and explanations in the syllabus. They do not need to have read the original research papers, and they are not expected to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the studies.

    Why IGCSE Psychology Feels Overwhelming

For many students, IGCSE Psychology is their first social science. It looks easy because it is about people. But the exam is strict. Students must remember the results and conclusions of 18 named studies, use correct terminology, and structure their answers in a very specific way.

Bright students often understand the concepts but freeze in the exam. They lose marks not because they don’t know the material, but because they don’t know how to present it.

Our tutors see this every day. They know exactly where students lose marks and how to fix it.

    Our Student Onboarding Process

When a parent or student contacts us, we do not rush into booking. We take time to understand your situation.

    1

    Free Consultation

We discuss your child’s current grade, target grade, and specific challenges. We also look at the deeper blocks — exam anxiety, confusion with research methods, or trouble remembering named studies. The goal is to understand what is really holding your child back.

    2

    Teacher Profile Sharing

Based on your needs, we share 1–2 teacher profiles with qualifications, experience, and introductions. We consider your child’s learning style — whether they are quiet and need gentle encouragement, or outgoing and thrive on discussion.

    3

    You Approve the Teacher

You review the profiles and choose the teacher who feels right. If none of them fit, we find another match. You are always in control.

    4

    Demo Class

Your child attends a live session with the shortlisted teacher. There is zero obligation. It is simply a chance to see how they connect.

    5

    Begin with Five Sessions

We do not push large packages on day one. Start with five sessions so your child has time to settle, and you have time to judge the fit honestly.

Why Our IGCSE Psychology Tutor Offers a 5-Hour Starter Package

Most tutoring companies ask you to commit to 10, 20, or even 30 hours upfront. We do not believe in that.

We offer just 5 hours to begin with.

    There are two reasons.

First, we want you to see the tutor’s teaching style, communication, and pacing before making a larger commitment. No pressure. No lock-in.

Second, learning is personal. A child needs a few sessions to feel comfortable opening up to a new teacher about what they find difficult. Five hours gives that relationship room to form — so you can judge the match fairly, and so can your child.

Students Come to Us for Different Reasons

    🎯

    Refining Exam Technique

Some students already achieve strong grades but want to refine their exam technique and work toward the highest available grade.

    🧩

    Feeling Lost in Class

Some students feel completely lost in their school classroom. The teacher moves too fast. Our tutors break down complex psychology concepts, theories, and studies into simple, step-by-step explanations.

    📝

    Struggling with Exam Questions

Some students understand the content but struggle with exam questions. Our tutors teach exam strategies, time management, and how to understand and answer different question types.

    💪

    Rebuilding Confidence

Some students are struggling academically and need structured support to improve their performance and confidence.

Whatever the reason, we listen first. We assess. We customize. No two students are the same.
